The life and death of Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old African American who was shot by a Bay Area Rapid Transit police officer on the Fruitvale BART Station platform early on New Year's Day, 2009, is told in this dramatized 2013 film. The film was winner of both the Grand Jury Prize for dramatic feature and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.
