Memorial Day Parade 2015

Please join the Malden community as we remember and honor the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation’s freedom at the Malden Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25th. The parade will begin at 10:00 AM and will start at the corner of Salem, Ferry, and Main Streets and will proceed north on Main Street to Forest Street and into Forest Dale Cemetery. There will be a short ceremony at Forest Dale Cemetery, then the parade will resume onto Pierce Street, turn right onto Salem Street and will end at the corner of Salem, Ferry, and Main Streets.
The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade will be William Dempsey, a World War II Hero and long-time Veteran’s Advocate and career educator in the Malden Public School system. Following the parade, at 1:00 PM City Officials and Veterans’ Groups will dedicate Private First Class Paul W. Trainor Memorial Square near the corner of Highland Avenue and Devir Street. PFC Trainor was a Malden Catholic graduate who grew up on Highland Avenue near Devir Street. PFC Trainor enlisted in the Marines on November 27, 1967 and was killed in action in Vietnam on August 2, 1968.
