"The Finest Hours: Resiliency & Leadership Lessons from America’s Greatest Rescue"
Wednesday, May 25, 7 pm, Malden Public Library
Michael J. Tougias will talk about the true story behind the 1952 rescue mission that is the subject of his best-selling book, “The Finest Hours.” The book recounts the story of a 1952 nor’easter that left dozens of men aboard a pair of oil tankers at the mercy of the storm as the U.S. Coast Guard launched a rescue mission to save them. The book has been made into a Disney movie starring Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, and Ben Foster. Co-sponsored with the Malden Historical Society.
