Malden Chamber of Commerce hosts “Business After Hours” Networking Event at Malden Access TV on April 29th.
The Malden Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its monthly Business After Hours Networking Event at Malden Access TV on Tuesday, April 29th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Both Chamber members and non-members are invited to enjoy an evening of networking with new and existing members while learning about Malden Access TV. Attendees can also enjoy light refreshments and will be entered for a chance to win and complimentary video production for their business provided by MATV. MATV will also be validating parking for any attendee’s that park in either of the downtown garages.
“We’ve put a big focus on offering our members greater value for their membership in 2014, not only through our new Shop Local Malden initiative, but by hosting monthly Business After Hours events at Chamber businesses in Malden. It gives both the host business some great exposure and our members a chance to meet and connect with other members to potentially grow their business” says Jenna Coccimiglio, Executive Director for the Malden Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber will also be presenting Bread of Life with a donation of $1,050.00 from proceeds of their 5th Annual Taste of Malden event.

Council Committee Meetings

FINANCE COMMITTEE – 5:30 P.M. – COUNCIL CHAMBER
Councillors: Ultrino (Chair), Spadafora, Kinnon, D’Arcangelo, DeMaria and Matheson
Discussion will be on the following:
• 230-14 – That the Council meet with the Treasurer and Controller relative to the impact of borrowing on debt service.
This meeting will be televised and ALL COUNCILLORS are encouraged to attend.
COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE – 7:00 P.M. = ROLL CALL
Immediately following the Pledge of Allegiance, the Council will observe a moment of silence in remembrance of U.S. servicemen and women lost overseas and in support of those still fighting there.
The Council will discuss the following:
• 238-14 – National Grid: for installation of new Pole #1629-50 and 1-4” underground conduit on Mountain Avenue
• 239-14 – Petition of Lightower Fiber Networks to install approximately 44’ of 4” underground conduit on Main Street
• 240-14 – Petition of Lightower Fiber Networks to install approximately 60’ of 4” underground conduit on Charles Street
• 121-14 – National Grid: to construct underground conduits on Exchange Street
• 425/13- Amending Section 700.3.2 of Chapter 12 relative to State Licensed Family Day Care Facilities.
• Committee Report – Ordinance (Re: Paper #225- Amending Section 5.2.2 relative to the composition of the Council on Aging)
• Committee Report – Ordinance (Re: Paper #432/13 – Amending R.O. 1991 relative to the composition of the Human Rights, Fair Housing and Disability Issues Commission)
Councillor Anderson has requested Executive Session for the purpose of discussion on the status of the relocation of City Hall.

Malden Adult Education Classes

Malden Adult Education
Spring classes have now begun.
Classes offered this semester are:
English classes Levels 1-4;
Level 5, which is a reading, writing, conversation, advanced grammar and intro to Toefl;
A basic computer class that focuses on Microsoft Word, the Internet, emailing and Powerpoint.
Classes run every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00-8:00PM until June 12th.
Registration will remain open until March 27th, only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-8pm.
The cost of the class is $100.00 if you mention this ad!
