Movie Night
1/21/2015 6:00 PM - 8:30 PM
6:00-8:30pm
Wed, January 21, 6:00pm – 8:30pm
Malden Public Library Maccario Room
Join us for Movie Night at the Malden Public Library on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, from 6:00-8:30pm. We will be showing the latest film starring Denzel Washington as Bob McCall, a former black ops commando who faked his death in order to live a quiet life in Boston. The movie is loosely based on the TV series, The Equalizer. At a small diner, McCall meets Alina (Chloe Grace Moretz), a young woman under the control of some ultra-violent eastern European gangsters. Seeing she needs his help, McCall comes out of his self-imposed retirement to seek justice for Alina. Richard Roeper of The Chicago Sun Times writes, “The [film] features some gruesomely creative violence, but it’s equally memorable for the small, gritty moments set in that diner, or on the rough-and –tumble streets of Boston.” The Hollywood Reporter states that the movie is “The most exciting…and stylish film of its type in a very long while.” This film is free and open to the public and is accessible. Movie times are approximate. Please call the Malden Public Library at 781-324-0218 for more information. Rated R (132 min.)
