Starting Tuesday, November 29th
11:00AM to 12:00PM
Each Tuesday from 11am to 12:00pm, we hold a standing open house for people interested in applying to join our Culinary Incubator, which comes with a rental contract to use our licensed commercial kitchen and access to continual in-house consulting services related to business development, accounting and bookkeeping, permitting and regulatory support, and marketing and brand identity.
We start with a quick overview of our services and application processes, followed by a tour of the facility, and then an optional Q&A with our operations staff. Interested applicans are strongly encouraged to stay for the Q&A. Preferential consideration will be given to those who bring application materials with them to Open House, including:

Entrepreneurs at all stages are welcome, especially if you (a) are passionate and (b) arrive on time! ;)
FAQs
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We are a 10-minute walk from the Malden Center T Stop (Orange Line). For cars, we ask that you park on the street on Pearl Street, though NOT directly in front of the building (we enforce commercial loading zone procedures at all times). It is rare to have to park more than 2 blocks down from our building. Please make sure not to block our neighbors' driveways.
What should I bring to the event?
A hat or other hair covering/restraint, as required by the food code; please ensure that long or loose hair is fastened or able to be tucked into a hairnet.. As much information about your process and business plan (or ideas about what it might be, even if you don't have it yet).
What can't I bring to the event?
Please do not bring young children or other vulnerable persons who may be at particular risk of injury. Every visitor is responsible for following instructions, using common sense, and maintaining the safety of themselves and the people around them.
Where can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Our staff is reachable at info@stockpotmalden.com or at 781-605-1426.
Can I bring my business partner/spouse/best friend?
Sure, but please include them in the RSVP to guarantee their space, and please limit your party to 2 people. We have to cap the size of touring groups for your safety and that of our users, but we don't want to have to turn anyone away -- please leave room for everyone!

Open Space Committee

Open Space and Recreation Committee
Friday, January 13, 2017
Mayor Gary Christenson has announced an 11 member committee to assist the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) in updating the City of Malden Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) which was last updated in 2009 and covered the period of 2009-2016. The task of the group will be to determine the City’s park and recreational assets and gather feedback to help guide the City in its future actions regarding open space and recreation planning. The Committee consists of residents, City departments responsible for overseeing and maintaining parks, and representatives of organizations and community groups. The members are Prisco Tammaro (resident), Nick Pernice (Malden Redevelopment Authority), Bob Knox (Director of Public Works), Brian Creamer (Walkability Committee), Steve Winslow (Bike to the Sea), Bob Rotondi (Little League), Joe Levine (Recreation Coordinator), Michelle Romero (City Planner), City Councillor Barbara Murphy (Ward 5), Marie Shea (Challenger League) and Brian Delacey (resident).

The City needs an open space and recreation plan in order to continue to qualify for grant money and programs. The plan, which will cover a seven-year period, serves as a blueprint for ensuring that current and future residents have ample opportunities for recreation and access to open space. MAPC's work will include an inventory of conservation and recreation spaces, the development of goals and objectives, and a community visioning process. The project is being administered by the Malden Redevelopment Authority. The first meeting of the OSRP Committee will be Monday, January 23rd, at 5:30 PM at the Senior Center, 7 Washington Street.
