Arts/Culture Leaders
10/26/2018
In tandem with #ARTSMATTERDAY this Friday, October 26, 2018, the City of Malden is allowing a new page to go up in the navigational system of the city website, "CULTURE AND ARTS" along with one page that offers an overview of the Culture and Arts scene with links to further information or organizations. It seems strategic in the flurry of an #ARTSMATTERDAY social media campaign in Malden to have a neutral, city-wide resource page to go to to find out a bit about the culture and arts scene and organizations available for contact.

Take-Back Drug Day
10/27/2018 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Malden Police and Malden Board of Health are hosting the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) National Prescription Take-Back Day on Saturday October 27, 2018 from 10 AM-2PM at the Malden Police Station, 800 Eastern Avenue. Take-Back Day provides a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medication, while also educating the public about the potential for abuse. Unused and expired medications left unsecure or unmonitored in medicine cabinets are a public safety issue that can lead to abuse or accidental overdose. Proper disposal of all medication is an easy and effective way to prevent the misuse and abuse of prescription and OTC medication and protect the environment.
National Take-Back Day is open to the public. If you are unable to attend, you may dispose of medication any day and time in the permanent Medication Disposal Unit located in the Malden Police Station lobby.
Accepted items include: pills, capsules, tablets, liquid cough medicine, creams or other medications. Any needles/syringes, medical devices (IV bags, home infusion items, etc.), thermometers, & medical instruments will NOT be accepted but may be disposed of at the following locations any day during normal business hours:
Malden Senior Housing, 630 Salem Street Senior Center, 7 Washington Street Board of Health, 110 Pleasant Street 2nd Floor
Information regarding substance use prevention and recovery resources will also be available during the Take-Back Day, or can be found anytime at www.CityofMalden.org/substanceuse.
