10:30–11:30am, join Revered Wendy Bell and members of First Parish of Malden, a Unitarian Universalist congregation, for an interfaith worship service that is centered around the themes of this year’s Malden Reads book selection, “A Man Called Ove.”
The Children's Message will include the skit performed at the Malden Reads Opening Celebration by local children and MATV's Executive Director Ron Cox. Reverend Bell will offer a sermon inspired by the book. Everyone is welcome. A coffee hour will follow the service. First Parish is located at 2 Elm Street in Malden. Parking is available on Elm Street in and in the adjacent Beebe School parking lot

Each Tuesday from 11am to 12:00pm, we hold a standing open house for people interested in applying to join our Culinary Incubator, which comes with a rental contract to use our licensed commercial kitchen and access to continual in-house consulting services related to business development, accounting and bookkeeping, permitting and regulatory support, and marketing and brand identity.
We start with a quick overview of our services and application processes, followed by a tour of the facility, and then an optional Q&A with our operations staff. Interested applicans are strongly encouraged to stay for the Q&A. Preferential consideration will be given to those who bring application materials with them to Open House, including:
- A one-page BUSINESS PLAN
- A one-page OPERATION OVERVIEW (process flow for food, delivery process, etc)
Please bring a hat to wear and any application materials you wish to prepare. Those who come with application materials are always given the highest consideration.
Entrepreneurs at all stages are welcome, especially if you (a) are passionate and (b) arrive on time! ;)

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
We are a 10-minute walk from the Malden Center T Stop (Orange Line). For cars, we ask that you park on the street on Pearl Street, though NOT directly in front of the building (we enforce commercial loading zone procedures at all times). It is rare to have to park more than 2 blocks down from our building. Please make sure not to block our neighbors' driveways.
What should I bring to the event?
A hat or other hair covering/restraint, as required by the food code; please ensure that long or loose hair is fastened or able to be tucked into a hairnet.. As much information about your process and business plan (or ideas about what it might be, even if you don't have it yet).
What can't I bring to the event?
Please do not bring young children or other vulnerable persons who may be at particular risk of injury. Every visitor is responsible for following instructions, using common sense, and maintaining the safety of themselves and the people around them.

The Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold a recycling day for a variety of items including tires, televisions, computer monitors and car batteries on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Residents of Malden will be able to bring recyclable items to the DPW, 356 Commercial Street from 9AM-2PM. Paint will be recycled from 9AM-1PM. Latex, oil and acrylic paints as well as stains and varnishes will also be accepted. However, antifreeze, household hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals or other hazardous materials will not be accepted.
FEE SCHEDULE:
Car tires: $2
Truck tires: $20
TVs and computer monitors: $25
Car batteries: $1
Motor oil (per gallon): $1 (no antifreeze or transmission fluid)
Used oil filters: $2.50
PAINT FEE SCHEDULE:
1-5 gallons: $10
6-10 gallons: $15
11-15 gallons: $20
16-20 gallons: $25 ($3 per gallon after 20 gallons)
