What should I bring to the event?
A hat or other hair covering/restraint, as required by the food code; please ensure that long or loose hair is fastened or able to be tucked into a hairnet.. As much information about your process and business plan (or ideas about what it might be, even if you don't have it yet).
What can't I bring to the event?
Please do not bring young children or other vulnerable persons who may be at particular risk of injury. Every visitor is responsible for following instructions, using common sense, and maintaining the safety of themselves and the people around them.

Malden Reads
5/25/2017 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Malden Reads Enthusiasts,
Have you wondered what Ove’s daily life would be like in Sweden? Wondered what Scandinavian culture includes besides Swedish fish?
Join Fjällräven, Malden Reads, and the Scandinavian Cultural Center for an evening of Scandinavian culture! We will be learning about the Scandinavian culture described in A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman, this year’s Malden Reads selection!
Fjällräven will be hosting Malden Reads participants for drinks, in-store promotions, and more! The event will be held Thursday evening, May 25, at 7:00–9:00 p.m. at the Fjällräven store, located at
63 Church Street
Cambridge.
Malden Reads is happy to coordinate carpools – please contact Jodie at 781-608-6938 to make arrangements.
The evening will begin with an introduction and welcome by Fjällräven to their store, and they will share a brief history of Scandinavian outdoors traditions and a brief history of their company. We will then hear from the Scandinavian Cultural Center, with what promises to be a cultural exchange with an introduction about Scandinavian/Swedish culture and connections to Ove. There will be plenty of time for questions and a free-flowing discussion over refreshments and mingling.
The event is free of charge, and there is no expectation that we will make any purchases at Fjällräven. To help plan refreshments, we are asking folks to sign up for the event online here. And … Fjällräven is generously donating a backpack to one lucky Malden Reads enthusiast! The THIRD person to email maldenreads@gmail.com will receive a free Kanken style backpack in the color of your choice! (We would love if you could join us on May 25, but that is not a requirement for this special offer.)
