Donate Children's Books for "Bubbles & Books"
You can drop off new or gently used children's books (for ages 0 - 18) to any Malden Reads event or at MATV, Malden's Media Center, at 145 Pleasant Street. The books will be distributed as part of the 3rd Annual "Bubbles and Books" sponsored by the Malden Kiwanis Club and co-sponsored by Malden Reads. "Bubbles and Books" will be held on Saturday, June 2 from 2:30 - 5:30pm at Miller Park in Malden, offering storytelling, puppetry, slush, face painting, the magic of Jim Dichter's giant bubbles, and free books! MATV hours of operation are Monday - Thursday, 10am - 9pm; Friday, 10am - 6m; and Saturday, 10am - 2pm.

Please join us for this FREE one day program and participate in high-quality financial education workshops and unique salary negotiation training.The Women’s Economic Empowerment Series is a financial empowerment workshop to help women gain the tools to secure their economic future and reach their full financial potential. This is a project of Massachusetts State Treasurer’s Office. The WEES program is made possible by a grant from Citizens Bank.
This program is for women of all ages, ethnicities, economic backgrounds, and levels of fiscal knowledge. Participants who attend these workshops will learn:

Planning for Retirement
Understanding How to Manage your Debt
Budgeting Basics
Salary Negotiation
Understanding Credit

Workshop for Parent & Caregivers

On Monday June 11th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Malden’s Salemwood School, in partnership with Malden Public Schools, the Malden Board of Health’s Substance Abuse Prevention Services (SAPS) will present Carrie Stack, M.Ed, founder of the Say Yes Institute, on “Strengthening Connections & Deepening Conversations with Youth”; a FREE interactive workshop for parents and caregivers in Malden.
This workshop will give parents and caregivers skills and tools to engage in more meaningful conversations with youth around healthy decision making & handling stress.
Dinner will be provided

Mayor Gary Christenson will hold the fourth "City of Malden Live" meeting on Thursday, June 21st from 6-8 PM. The meeting will be shown on Facebook Live on the City of Malden official Facebook Page where residents may watch and ask questions of City officials live. For those who would like to join us in person, the meeting will take place at Malden City Hall located at 17 Pleasant Street in the fourth floor conference room. These meetings will be held quarterly and officials from various departments will be represented at the meeting to address residents' questions or concerns. Those unable to attend the event either in person or online may submit their questions ahead of time by emailing info@cityofmalden.org or messaging us on our Facebook page.
