MATV Public Reception

The new exhibit in the MATV Gallery at Malden's Media Center will mark a first time meeting of local artists James Blandini and Kamil Abdushukur. The two men hail from different cultures and parts of the world and their art shares little by way of style and content. But an unexpected opening at the MATV Gallery brought the work of these two artists together. Despite this random pairing, the exhibit took shape in a way that complimented and supported their creative styles, while also creating something new as a unified whole.

Malden Public Library's Maccario Room Join us for Movie Night on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, from 6:00-8:30pm. We will be showing a recent movie where a family of four must stay in A Quiet Place or their survival will be threatened. The movie stars Emily Blunt and Boston-born John Krasinski. In a not-so-distant post-apocalyptic world, the Abbott family is forced to live in silence in a world full of creatures with extremely sensitive hearing who hunt by sound. Stephen King wrote on Twitter, “A QUIET PLACE is an extraordinary piece of work. Terrific acting, but the main thing is the SILENCE, and how it makes the camera's eye open wide in a way few movies manage.” Join us for Movie Night for free popcorn and snacks and adults may enter our raffle to win some cool prizes, including movie tickets.
