Haiti Benefit Event

Call for Performers - A benefit event to support the victims of the Haiti earthquake and local Haitians affected by the tragedy will be held on Saturday, February 27th at the Malden Senior Community Center. The evening, intended for all ages, will open with short form, mostly local performances - music, drumming, singing, poetry, dance, and spoken word - and will close with featured performances. Organized by MATV member Nomadik (a.k.a. Marie Recupero) of Soulkore Sessions, with the support of MATV, the event is intended to bring the community together (Haitians and non-Haitians) to show support and to raise funds. If you are interested in performing at this event, please contact Nomadik at nomadik@soulkore.com (or call her at 857 205 2706), and submit CD, bio, website, or other information regarding your talent. Space and time is limited. Therefore not all entries will be selected. The organizer reserves the right to select performers in accordance to the event themes. Performances may be up to 5 minutes in length. All performances should relate to themes of struggle, despair, hope, humanity, and solidarity. Submissions must be received by Wednesday, February 10. The show's organizer is also looking for related images to project on a screen during the perfomances. Please send appropriate copyright free images to the email address mentioned.
