Malden Access Television - MATV, offers a wide selection of media production courses of varying difficulty levels with students aging from anywhere between 8 to 80 and of many nationalities. Throughout these hands-on courses, students are enlightened of ability of the media in conveying messages as well as providing a source of entertainment. In order to participate in these course however, an individual must first become a member of MATV first.
Prior to any courses students are subject to orientation at the MATV studio which includes a guided tour of the facilities, a history of MATV, and an overview of MATV policies and procedure. By taking the four part Video Basic course, students not only hone their camcorder and editing skills, but also will be required to produce submit a "certification tape." If the tape is accepted, the student then becomes certified in portable video production and can go on to produce their own programs. Student can go even further in their certification and media knowledge through the "Intro to Studio Production Course" which covers in-depth, hands-on introduction to studio camera, lighting, audio, tape tech, switching, directing, and floor directing. Upon completion of the course and helping out two studio productions, the student is then certified in studio production and can go on to producing their own studio shows.
All courses at MATV are hands on and offer an educational and exciting experience for all its members. Not only does the students gain paramount knowledge of the media, but they also diversify and aid the community through they projected visions and messages.
