As you may know, a partnership with Boston Architectural College’s (BAC) Gateway Initiative Program was initiated in September 2018 to assist the Malden City Council and Medford City Council ad hoc hospital review committees with community-based, rather than developer-driven, redevelopment options for the former Malden Hospital.
As part of that process, many of you took an online survey between December 30, 2018 and June 2, 2019 to provide input regarding community-based redevelopment options and to consider community priorities for the abandoned hospital property. We took the summer to compile the materials while people were away enjoying vacations and time spent with friends and family.
The survey results as well as the resulting BAC options will be presented to the public from 6 - 7:30 pm at the Beebe School Auditorium at 401 Pleasant Street in Malden on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019. Please save the date!
BAC-FoFH board liaison Leah Emerson and BAC faculty advisor, registered architect and LEED AP, Rashmi Ramaswamy, co-founder and principal of Shed Studio, will be presenting. We hope you'll join us to review and celebrate the culmination of this year’s work with the BAC as a community partner through their 2018-19 Gateway Initiative program
