Mayor Christenson recently congratulated the Malden Court of the Catholic Daughters of America on 100 years of work in the City of Malden at a celebration held at the Exchange Street Bistro. Founded in 1903 in New York by the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters is the oldest and largest organization of Catholic women in the Americas. Established in Malden in 1920 at St. Joseph’s Church as Maplewood Court #510, the organization has worked tirelessly in their efforts to alleviate the suffering of those affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters. Catholic Daughters has served in 43 states where they have supported many charitable causes, locally and abroad, and strive to promote justice, equality, and the advancement of human rights for all.
